Headteacher Welcome Letter

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the start of our new school year! It was lovely to see the children return after the holidays and we have had a really positive start over the last couple of days through our whole school project ‘Growing Together’.
They are very excited to share their work in the school gallery that is displaying wonderful artwork created by the children across every year group.
It has been great meeting as many of you as possible and I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome I have received as your new Headteacher. I would also like to thank you for your patience and understanding as I realise the change in school leaders has meant that not everything is exactly the same as it was before. It is my aim for us to keep you updated and I want to assure you that the school has a very strong leadership team in place to support, lead and develop all of the staff whilst working alongside you as parents and carers.

Gates
From next Monday 7th September, we will only be using 2 gates for drop-off and pick-up times. This will be safer to manage and will mean we have more staff who are able to be in the classrooms, ready to welcome the children to start their learning as quickly as possible.
The 2 gates we will be using are:
- The main front gate.
- Stuart Street Nursery and Reception gate. If your child is in Key Stage 2 and using this gate, we would like them to walk around the school to the front entrance.
After School Clubs
The school no longer has a sports coach. It is our intention to provide some after school clubs for the children when staff have had the opportunity to settle into their roles. We will keep you updated about any clubs.
Breakfast Club
St Clement’s is becoming one of the schools that has been allocated funding to provide a Free Breakfast Club. However, we cannot put this on immediately as we need to organise staffing, food delivery, booking systems, risk assessments and other arrangements within school to ensure it runs safely and smoothly.
Breakfast Club will therefore run as it usually does next week: 7:45am – 8:45am – £1 per child, per day
I will hopefully be in a position to write to you at the end of next week with more information about the start of the Free Breakfast Club.
Please be aware that the School Office will often communicate with parents and carers through the emails that you have all provided to us, so please keep an eye out for these arriving to the email address you use.
We are currently putting in place new communication methods that the teachers will be able to use with you.
Although I haven’t known the team at St Clement’s for very long, they have already demonstrated their hard work and commitment. Together, we are determined to raise the profile of St Clement’s within the community and to achieve great things for the children through the further improvements we are carrying out.
It is a privilege to be the Headteacher at St Clement’s, and I look forward to working in partnership with you all.
